• Pearls (in different sizes)
• Black paper
• Glue
• Scissors and pencil
• Sticker gems
• Picture frame (ours was upcycled)

DIY Moon Decor

Take your black paper and outline it with a crescent moon shape as a guide for once you start gluing. I had black construction paper but I think that a harder card stock paper would work better for this.

Working in sections, cover the inside of the moon outline with glue.

Add different sized pearls until the glue is completely covered.

Continue gluing until your moon shape has formed.

Add a few sticker gems around the crescent moon to resemble twinkling stars. Wait until the glue is completely dry. This will probably take a day, especially if a large portion of the page is covered with glue!

Once everything is dry, place the finished moon decor inside of a frame.

This DIY is super easy and fun to make! You can work with kids to make their own moon, and you can change the sizes depending on the frame!

• Yarn or macrame(color of your choice)
• Cardboard
• Scissors
• Beads or buttons
• Hot glue

I’m a big fan of easy crafts, especially if they involve yarn or beads! In the past I’ve made these yarn wrapped hearts and these pipe cleaner bracelets with my kids. Since Christmas is fast approaching I wanted to make some fun yarn wrapped Christmas tree ornaments. I wish I had more colorful yarn but these turned out great!

How to Make Yarn wrapped Christmas Tree Ornaments

Start by cutting out a tree shape out of your cardboard. Also cut a piece of yarn that will be used to hang your ornament.

Fold the yarn and hot glue in place, this will be the hook for the ornament. You can also use tape since it will be covered by the yarn.

Add hot glue to the bottom of the cardboard and wrap yarn to form the Christmas tree trunk.

Next, starting at the top add more hot glue and attach your yarn. I find that thicker or fluffier yarn works best because it covers up the cardboard better. Continue wrapping around the cardboard.

Add a bit of hot glue throughout to hold the yarn in place. Continue wrapping until you’ve reached the bottom and then glue the last piece into place.

Next, attach beads or buttons to the Christmas tree ornaments.

Then you just have to hang them on your Christmas tree or anywhere else you need some decorations.

And if you’d like to make this craft with your kids, simple sub out the hot glue and use tape. The back might not look at great with tape sticking on it but the front is still adorable!

• Cardstock
• Tacky glue
• Buttons
• Green marker

Easy Handmade Mother’s Day Card

You can upcycle old buttons or buy thrifted or dollar store buttons. I used leftover buttons from this monogram letter craft.

Start by drawing thin lines on the front of the cardstock . This will be the flower stems. Make each stem a different length. 

Next draw leaves at the bottom of the stems. 

Choose which buttons you’ll use as the flower (big, small or Moms favorite color). Glue a button on the top of each green stem.

Seriously, it’s that easy! Just make sure you let the buttons dry onto the card stock before you put it in an envelope.

All you have left to do is write a sweet message on the inside.

Materials Needed

You probably already have these supplies at home. Hard boil your eggs and wait for them to cool before drawing on them. I bought eggs but decided that I’m going to naturally dye those eggs with onions instead (stay tuned for that project.) For this project, I’m using craft eggs and a sharpie marker.

• White eggs (I got mine at the dollar store)
• Sharpie marker

Doodle Easter Eggs

Get creative. You can let you kids decorate too, just be aware that if you use washable markers it will likely smear. You can get colorful sharpies too, or stick with black! These doodle Easter eggs are mindless fun so don’t worry if your doodles look a bit messy, It all comes together at the end.

Once you’re done your done with your doodles you can display the eggs in an egg carton. I used a wooden box and filled it with paper grass and then put the eggs inside. The green paper really makes the black and white eggs stand out.

Now you just have to fill your egg carton or box with your decorated eggs. I’m glad I used the craft eggs because I can reuse these every year with my Easter decor.
