Cut your potato in half , or lengthwise, so that end up with two oval pieces. Make sure the potato is even, you may have to cut some extra pieces to make sure its straight. You can even carve out shapes or lines in the potato. We chose not to do that, since we wanted to keep it simple!

Dap a paper towel on the inside of your potato so that it’s not wet. The paint sticks much better this way.

Choose some fun Easter colors and decorate your potatoes with paintbrushes. How perfect is it that the potato has an egg shape? You can make lines, dots, swirls, zig zag or paint it all one color. You can even use your fingers to paint your Easter eggs, a little mess is always fun.

Once painted, press your potato Easter egg onto a piece of paper. Hold it down firmly and then lift up to reveal your Easter egg design on the paper.

Wipe away excess paint or wash with water when you’re ready to make new designs. We mixed paint colors and they turned out great.

I think these stamped eggs would make an adorable Easter egg garland once dry. You just have to cut out each egg and attach it to string. We may try that next!
