• Cylinder vases (we got ours from the dollar store)
• Candesticks
• E6000 glue

How to Make Pedestal Vases

I saw this little trick on a Tik Tok and decided to try it for myself. This is such a simple and affordable decor piece. I headed to dollar tree and bought glass vases and glass candlestick holders. You can use mason jars or bowls to make a pedestal vase too.

Start by removing and stickers and cleaning the bottom of your glass vase. Flip your vase upside down so that the opening is on the table.

Add E6000 glue along the rim of the glass candlestick.

Place the candlestick with the glue onto the bottom of the vase. Make sure to press hard and you may have to wait a minute to make sure the glue holds.

Flip them back right side up and your pedestal vases are done!

Once the glue has dried, add flowers, ornaments or candles inside the vase.

Set your pedestal vases on a mantle, table or shelf.

I like using dollar store items to make my decor because it’s affordable and easy to change up. This stacked book decor cost less than $10 to make, along with these paper stars and this pearl garland.

• Paint brushes
• Baking soda

DIY Clay Painted Vases

I started by mixing 1/4 cup of paint and 1 teaspoon of baking soda. This paint trick for clay painted vases is great because you don’t really have to measure. I ended up adding more baking soda because I wanted to look more textured. You want the paint to spread and not be too thick.

Clean off the surface of your piece, I used a cotton pad and rubbing alcohol. I chose glass vases from the dollar store but this paint trick works on thrifted, textured vases or jars.

Apply the paint in sweeping strokes on the outside and inside of the vase. I wanted to use the inside for flowers so I decided to paint just the outside. The paint dries quickly and I ended up doing a couple layers because I wanted more coverage, especially since the inside wasn’t being painted.

You can paint in vertical or horizontal lines. I liked the look of it vertically but horizontal lines look more like real clay. It’s not really a big deal if you make mistakes or if the lines doesn’t look even because real ceramics aren’t perfect.

Let your clay painted vases dry!

These turned out so pretty and they were so easy! With a total cost of about $5 for materials you can do this with multiple colors, jars and vases.

Leave the vases empty but you can also add flowers, branches or greenery.

You’ll need:

• Mason jars
• Cardboard tubes
• Ribbon
• Scissors
• Easter candy – chocolate eggs or jelly beans.
• Flowers- real or artificial (optional)

Easter Candy Jar Vases

Grab all your supplies. Make sure your mason jars are washed and dried before you start. Next, take a cardboard tube and cut it so that it fits inside the mason jar. You can also use toilet paper rolls but make sure you’re not eating candy after you use those, because of cross contamination. The cardboard tubes are great because they leave space for flowers and you use less candy to fill the jars (more for you to eat!)

Start filling your mason jar with your Easter candy. We used chocolate eggs and honestly, I was afraid we wouldn’t have enough because the kids kept trying to eat them! You may need to hold your cardboard tube as you start but eventually the candy will hold the tube in place.

Continue filling your mason jar until the candy covers the cardboard tube and there is candy to the top.

Do the same for any other mason jar vases you have.

Take your fresh flowers and cut the stem so that it fits nicely inside the cardboard tube. You can use artificial flowers too. And if you want your Easter candy vases to last longer this is a good idea because the fresh flowers won’t last long without water.

Take ribbon or scrap fabric and wrap it around the neck of your mason jar.

And you’re done!

You can also take out the flowers and just use the candy jars as decor.
