DIY Pearl Garland – An Easy Craft for the Holidays

Posted on

When I was looking for something to wrap around my greenery I decided on a simple and classic pearl garland. Why didn’t anyone tell me that even fake pearls can be so expensive? I checked online, in stores and ended up going to the dollar tree to buy my own supplies. This DIY pearl garland is so easy to make and cost less than $5.

DIY Pearl Garland

It is a bit of a tedious process to make this pearl garland but I ended up making it while sitting on the couch and watching some Netflix. First find out how long of a garland you will need. You can always make them in small sections and attach them as well. I knew I wanted a long garland so I started by unravelling the fishing wire and adding the beads. I used approximately 750 beads.

Continue on until you’ve gotten the length you want. As you reach the end give the pearls a bit of a shake so that they stay close together. Loop the fishing line around the last pearl a few times. Then tie a knot and cut any excess fishing line.

Once you’re done you simply wrap your pearl garland around greenery, a banister, hang from a wall or window.

I wrapped mine around a pine garland but I also added single pearls by attaching them to ornament hooks.

I’m using this pearl garland as part of my Christmas mantel but I love this idea for year round decorating. Pearls are so classic they make great decor anywhere in your house or you can use it for events like baby or bridal showers. I love how it turned out and how easy it was to make!
