I must admit I left my Christmas decor up a lot longer than I should have. I didn’t even want to change it over to a winter theme. The season was so busy I didn’t have time to post my mantel, I went opposite to the minimalist mantel I did the previous Christmas. Maybe I can show you the projects I made next Christmas?

Simple Spring Mantel Inspiration

Anyways, I was looking for a quick and simple spring mantel inspiration so I checked Pinterest and trusty google and there were so many elaborate decorations! Plus a lot of amazing DIY projects I could have made. Instead I went through my box of decor and found this coral pink peony garland I had previous bought at Michaels. If you don’t want to spend the money for a 6 foot garland you could grab some flowers and greenery from the dollar store and place them across your mantel, or attach them with floral wire to make your own garland.

I was gifted these beautiful milk glass vases that a friend found at a thrift store. I’ll never say no to more candles or candlesticks! They’re bright white and nicely blend into the fireplace brick. I’m going to keep an eye out for pink candles that would match my peonies, I think a pop of color would be nice here!

Finally, I finished it off by using a neutral colored basket filled it with some pillows, a blanket and a bead garland. Nothing fancy but definitely useful space for my pillows.

And there you have it, a simple spring mantel inspiration using flowers, greenery and a couple of candlesticks! And if this spring mantel will last as long as my Christmas mantel did, it will still work for summer too.

• Mason jars, in different sizes
• Mod Podge
• Lace ribbon or scrap fabric
• Paint brush
• Twine
• Scissors 

How to Make Spring Vases 

Upcycle an old sauce or salsa mason jar. Pick a smooth mason jar without any logos. Remove the paper label and then wash and dry the mason jar. I chose 2 different sizes and these are so easy to make you can make multiple spring vases.

Wrap your lace or scrap fabric around the jar to see how much fabric you need and cut to size.

Add a line of mod podge near the bottom of the jar. Go all the way around so that there is a ring of Mod Podge around the jar. This will make it easier to place your lace and hold it in place.

Wrap your lace or scrap fabric about the jar where you placed the mod podge.

Start adding mod podge over top the lace but try to get it over the edges of the lace. Don’t worry about it looking too thick or white because it will dry clear.

Wait for your spring vases to completely dry.

Add some twine to the top of the mason jar to give your spring vases a rustic touch.

Now all you have to do is add spring flowers and you’re spring vases are done!
