How to Make a Spring Wreath with Dollar Store Flowers 

I got this evergreen wreath years ago during a boxing day deal. I decorated it with twinkling lights and ornaments during Christmas time.

Once I took the ornaments off I just wasn’t ready to put it in storage. So I kept the twinkling lights on it and planned to turn it into a spring wreath.

Take your dollar store flowers and spread apart the stems as much a possible.

Start placing your flowers throughout the evergreen wreath.

You can even wrap some of the evergreen stems around the flowers to hold them in place.

Continue placing the flowers around the wreath until it’s covered. This wreath is oversized, which may be hard to tell, so it took about 6 bundles of flowers to cover.

It’s really that simple! Now you have a really simple spring wreath you can display in your home.

How to Make a Dollar Store Decorative Christmas Jar

I bought a vase from the dollar store but this Christmas jar could be easily made with upcycled mason jars, pickle jars or vases. Start by adding a layer of Epsom salts in the bottom of the jar. This will be the “snow.”

Next, arrange your bigger pieces inside the jar, such as the bottle brush trees.

Add in your Christmas village figurines. The dollar store had a lot of great options so you can choose whichever ones you want. They had animals, carolers and even street lamp figurines.

Add more Epsom salts over top of the figurines to hold them in place and give them the “snowy” look.

Next, just place your decorative Christmas jar where you need some holiday cheer. I placed mine on the mantle, but it would make a great centerpiece too!

Its always a great idea to bring a little something to new parents when visiting them and their new baby for the first time. Something like meals, gift cards or gift baskets are always a welcome gift. My best friend gave birth and I knew I wanted to bring her and her husband a sweet treat (you already know I brought a ton of baby stuff!)

DIY Dollar Store Gift Basket idea for New Parents

Start by making a list of the things you’ll need for your gift basket. Favorite candy or snacks are a must. Individual snacks are a great idea too because they can be tucked away around the house or put in a diaper bag.

My best friend is a huge coffee lover so I had to get her a couple of coffee mugs (and I personalized them using my Cricut machine, for that extra special touch. You can just as easily buy stickers from the craft area to make your own). I added a couple of cold coffees, because you know having a newborn means your coffee get cold right away anyways!

Don’t forget to add some healthy treats, with extra protein, like mixed nuts and beef Jerky. I added some of her favorite chocolate bars and a few self care items too, like lip balm and hair ties. You could also add face masks, a heating pad, spray bottle or lotion.

I also found this blue basket at the dollar store and it’s a great because they have multiple color choices. I filled it with tissue paper and started arranging the treats until everything fit.

And there you have it! A simple dollar store gift basket idea for new parents. The gift is affordable, easy to put together and you can buy everything in one place. Plus it’s more personal because you’re putting together their favorite snacks and treats. Enjoy the baby cuddles!

DIY Framed Glass Floating Signs

I am all about the minimalist Christmas look (check out my decorated mantel.) Plus I love that you can use these framed glass floating signs all winter season. Start by printing off this free printable saying “All is Calm” and “All is Bright” It’s in PDF format so you just have to click or download. Grab it here:

Next take your picture frame and carefully remove the glass. You can buy any size frame at the dollar store or paint an old frame any colour. Discard the backing.

Place the glass part of your frame on one of the printable phrases and trace the letters using a paint pen or permanent marker. Wait for your marker to full dry on the glass. I bought a marker made for glass at the dollar tree but ended up using a Sharpie instead. The Sharpie is a bit thicker and turned out better in my opinion.

Add a dap of hot glue on the front of each corner of the glass and carefully place the glass back on the frame.

Now just set it on your mantel, bookshelf or any place you want to add a little Christmas cheer.

How to Make Pedestal Vases

I saw this little trick on a Tik Tok and decided to try it for myself. This is such a simple and affordable decor piece. I headed to dollar tree and bought glass vases and glass candlestick holders. You can use mason jars or bowls to make a pedestal vase too.

Start by removing and stickers and cleaning the bottom of your glass vase. Flip your vase upside down so that the opening is on the table.

Add E6000 glue along the rim of the glass candlestick.

Place the candlestick with the glue onto the bottom of the vase. Make sure to press hard and you may have to wait a minute to make sure the glue holds.

Flip them back right side up and your pedestal vases are done!

Once the glue has dried, add flowers, ornaments or candles inside the vase.

Set your pedestal vases on a mantle, table or shelf.

I like using dollar store items to make my decor because it’s affordable and easy to change up. This stacked book decor cost less than $10 to make, along with these paper stars and this pearl garland.
