Brighten up any space with these DIY hand painted terracotta pots. They’re a quick and easy craft project that happens to be budget friendly.

These painted terracotta pots are fun because you can make them any color and design you want. Of course I wanted to go black and white (my favorite) but I think these would be fun to make for a special holiday like Easter or Christmas.

Craft materials including terracotta pots, paint, tape and paint brush.

I am using artificial plants in my terracotta pots but if you’re looking to put real plants inside I would apply a seal on top of the paint so it’s doesn’t chip.

How to Paint Terracotta Pots

Make sure your terracotta pots are clean and dry. I started by taping a part of my pot with painters tape, I wanted a geometric look.

Paint your terracotta pots. I only needed to do one coat but if you want to use more make sure the paint is dry between coats.

Once the paint is dry, add designs with more paint using a fine tip paintbrush or you can use a sharpie marker.

Super easy right? I think these adorable painted terracotta pots make great gifts for friends, family and teachers.
