• Essential oil of your choice

DIY Scented Clothespins

Start by choosing your favorite essential oil fragrance. Also, make sure to use a wooden clothespin that is untreated, some come with a gloss or coating. You want the oil to be able to soak into the wood.

Lay your wooden clothespins on a wipe-able surface, or place some fabric underneath to soak up any excess drops. Drop as much or as little essential oil as you like onto the wood clothespin, but usually covering everything is best. Alternatively you can add the wooden clothespins inside a plastic bag, add the oil and mix it together.

You will start to see that the wooden clothespin will look slightly wet and glossy.

The wood soaks in the oil pretty fast so you’ll be able to use them right away. Now simply add them into any space that you want to freshen up. They’re great for closets, drawers, and storage baskets.

You can choose your favourite scented essential oils. These scented clothespins are great because you can use a different scent for every season. For spring I love lavender, lilac is great for summer, orange for fall and peppermint for winter.

These DIY scented clothespins are long lasting but you can also add more drops at anytime! How easy are these to make?

What you Need for this Free Printable Gift Tag:

• Color printer
• Printer paper, card stock or sticker paper
• Scissors or paper cutter
• Hole punch
• Ribbon or twine

• Faux flower (we got ours from the dollar store)
• Twine or ribbon
• Gift tag

Nice Flower Housewarming Gift Idea

I love bringing a bottle of wine, a homemade treat, or a handcrafted item, it’s always the thought that matters! But if you’re strapped for time or idea this gift idea can’t get any easier!

To start, wash your jar and let dry. Remove the price tags from the faux flowers. I used three bunches for this gift but if you only have one or two flower bunches you can always separate the stems to give it a more fluffed out look.

Wrap some twine around the neck of the jar for a rustic look.

Attach a gift tag and you’re done.

• Thrifted Basket
• Acrylic paint (in color of your choice)
• Paintbrush
• Painters tape

Thrift Store Basket Makeover

Start by hunting down the perfect wicker basket. Thrift stores have such a good collection to choose from. Make sure the basket is sturdy and has a flat bottom so it can function well as a tray. I chose a basket that wasn’t too deep and has handles.

Wipe down the basket with a damp cloth to remove any dust or dirt. I actually soaked my basket in water with some bleach. Let it dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Decide how much of the basket you want to paint. I chose only the bottom half so I taped off the top half of the basket. The original plan was to paint the handles and outside, but the paint had soaked through so I had to paint the inside too. I actually really liked how that turned out! You may need a few coats of paint.

Remove the painters tape, let your basket dry and then fill it with your favorite decor pieces! It’s a simple thrift store basket makeover

Styling Your Tray

Now that you have a gorgeous wicker tray, it’s time to style it! Here are a few ideas:

• Coffee Table Centerpiece: Place your tray on a coffee table (this is what I do!) and fill it with wood beads, candles, books, flowers or seasonal decor.
• Kitchen Helper: Use the tray to organize spices, oils, and utensils on your kitchen counter. If you choose to use your basket this way I think adding a coat of sealant over the paint would be a good idea.
• Vanity Organizer: Keep your beauty essentials neatly arranged on your vanity. You can use it for holding perfumes, makeup, and jewelry.
