Materials You’ll Need
Anyone else mermaid obsessed? This is one piece of art you can create with your kids! Use paper, paint chips or even wrapping paper to make this easy mermaid art. You can use shimmering paper or add some glitter to it. I grabbed a stack of paint chips from the hardware store to use for this.

Easy Mermaid Art DIY
There’s nothing complicated about this art piece! Start by cutting circles from your paint chips. Don’t worry about making the circles perfect, just make sure to cut enough to cover your paper. You can make them as small or large as you’d like.
Next, choose the order your scales will go, or simply mix them all together.
Glue the circles starting on the top of your paper, next to each other.
Next, start your second row, right underneath overlapping the circles, as shown.
Continue gluing the circles to the bottom, until the paper is fully covered with “scales.”
The circles that hang over the edges can simple be folded over, or cut away at the end.
For an added touch, you can add some sea-themed elements onto your mermaid art, such as shells, sea glass or other embellishments.
Finally, once the glue has dried, simply place the mermaid art into a picture frame and you’re ready to display.
This is a great piece of art to hang in a mermaid lovers bedroom, placed on a table or use as a party decoration!
