DIY Rope Coasters
You don’t even need to line the bottom with anything because these diy rope coasters are sturdy and thick but I would end up scratching a table while trying to use a coaster so I used cardboard for the base. The cardboard also helps keep everything in place while gluing. Trace and cut out circles to start.
Add a dab of hot glue to the center of the cardboard circle cutout.
Glue the end of the rope to the cardboard.
Add hot glue to the cardboard and keep wrapping the rope around the circle.
Continue gluing and tightly wrapping.
You can use the hot glue on the sides of the rope to attach the next section or add the glue to the cardboard. I found that adding the glue to the cardboard was easier!
Once you get to the end, trim the rope and glue the end in place. If any cardboard is showing at this point you can cut off the excess.
I love how these rope coasters turned out! They’re so easy to make and I think they have a nautical vibe that’s perfect addition to any beachy decor.
I brought these to my sister’s cottage and they fit perfectly with the decor.
You really can’t go wrong with this easy craft!
